Jai-Alai athletes compete by hurling a pelota (ball) from a cesta (basket used to catch and throw the pelota) at speeds exceeding 150 mph, running up and down a 200-foot-long court, while anticipating their next move.
In addition to the thrill of the game itself, Jai-Alai features pari-mutuel wagering. Much like in horse racing, this sport has many different ways in which to bet. From basic win-place-show to a quinella to a trifecta and everything in between, there are numerous ways to place wagers on various teams or individual players.
