Featured GUE news and stories from around the world:
Riviera Maya, Mexico
What could be better than beautiful days of sun on a stunning sandy beach with access to world-class diving with a diversity of great people from around the world? Well, we thought we would up the ante by putting together another exciting agenda for the 2010 GUE Conference. While in Mexico it is hard not talk about the remarkable caves and we have spiced up the discussion with discussions on the unique critters, geologic composition, exploration updates, Mayan history and archeology discoveries. Of course we like to mix our pleasures so we put together a very talented international team of wreck divers who will share research techniques while outlining the best means to document your findings; of course they will also share their experience on some of the worlds best wrecks. Well hear from an experienced tri-athlete, as well as a nurse about narcosis and a doctor about decompression! And, among other things, we will explore whether sidemount is for you.
BAUE Divers Discover New Nudibranch Species
In 2008, divers as part of the ongoing BAUE Nudibranch Project disovered and photographed an unidentified nudibranch approximately 5mm in length. The slug was discovered at about 130' depth at Point Lobos State Reserve, in Carmel CA. After consulting with several nudibranch researchers who could also not make an identification, we set out to further document and possibly collect a specimen for further study.

New Poster: Wakulla - Leon Sinks Cave System
The Wakulla Springs and Leon Sinks cave systems have been the primary focus of the Woodville Karst Plain Project's exploration efforts over the last two decades. The WKPP's work at Wakulla was the genesis of DIR diving and represents one of the most significant ongoing dive exploration projects ever undertaken. One of the primary reasons for the formation of the WKPP was to connect the Wakulla and Leon Sinks Cave Systems.
