Animal Emergency Hospital of St. Johns County and Animal Emergency Hospital Volusia are both full service veterinary emergency and critical care animal hospitals serving the Northeast Florida area. Our St. Johns location is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, while our Volusia center operates from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on weeknights and throughout the entire weekend and on holidays.
If your pet is injured or ill, we are available and fully equipped to give your pet the immediate attention it needs. No appointment is required, but we do ask that you please call ahead if possible so that we may anticipate your arrival.
We also provide continuous care for those pets requiring observation following procedures performed by their regular veterinarian. We work closely with your regular veterinarian and promptly make available all records, test results, and x-rays for their reference. In addition, we perform imaging services, such as ultrasound and digital radiography, which may not be available at your local veterinarian.
When your pet is facing health problems, and you feel a second opinion on their condition would be warranted, we are also available for consult. While critical care is our specialty and primary focus, we are more than happy to give second opinions, as well as accept non-emergency patients for those who may not be able to make it to the veterinary hospital during regular business hours. Pets are seen on a triage basis; the most injured or ill animals will be attended to first.
Our hospitals are fully staffed with both veterinarians and technicians whenever pets are in our facilities. Your pet will never be left alone during its entire stay in our hospitals. We provide care for dogs, cats, ferrets, and pocket pets. In addition, our Volusia location can accommodate avian patients as well.

Because of the seriousness and the sensitive nature of emergency and critical care veterinary medicine, the Animal Emergency Hospital does not give medical diagnoses or advice over the phone or through e-mail.
We believe that in order to give you and your pet the best care, we must see your animal before we can accurately give a diagnosis or advice. Your regular veterinarian may be best suited for non-emergency questions or concerns.
