The Silver Screen Theatre, Pensacola's premier affordable movie theatre, located behind University Mall, is Escambia county's only locally owned and operated movie theatre. It is also Escambia county's longest running movie theatre. It was opened in 1982 as Pensacola's most unique single-screened theatre. In 1983, it was twinned, and in 1996 two more huge screens were added. The theatre is unique and fun for all ages.

In addition to popcorn, soft drinks and candy, the theatre has an expanded food and drink menu, including such items as espresso drinks, gourmet pizza, chicken wings, shrimp, chicken tenders, hamburgers, nachos, french fries, even spirits such as mixed drinks, wine & beer,....At our theatre, you can actually enjoy "Dinner + a Movie" at an affordable price. Our "Dinner & a Movie" special every night is only $11. This includes a recent movie, an entree of your choice, and a medium soft drink or a 12 oz. draft. When's the last time you went to a restaurant and seen a movie? Never, unless you've been to The Silver Screen! Instead of using conventional bolted-down seats, we offer movable comfortable chairs and tables--yes, you can actually eat a pizza at a table while viewing a current movie. Come try it for yourself! With movable chairs, "there's never a head in the way". Purchase of food is not necessary to view a movie.

Offering the same state-of-the-art projection and digital sound systems (DTS) as other theatres, The Silver Screen is Pensacola's best entertainment value. Movies, during matinee times are only $4.50, while features starting after 6 PM are $6.50. Admission for senior citizens (50+), active duty military, students, and children under 18 years is ALWAYS $4.50. Children under 3 are free. Special Friday and Saturday late nite engagements showing cult classics are only $3.00. Tuesday is 2 for 1 movie day. Nightly food and drink specials are available (refer to the "Nightly Specials" icon for these). This is truly Pensacola's best entertainment value. Why pay more? Tickets for movies and other events can now be purchased online, and credit cards (MasterCard & Visa) are accepted at the box office and at the concession stand.
Recently, 3 new LCD digital full screen video projectors featuring S-XGA resolution were installed. Now you can view Monday Night Football, pay-per-view sports events, television specials... on Pensacola's biggest screen in stereo. It's so big we call it "VIRTUAL SPORTS".

In addition to movies, as a CINETAINMENT venue, from time-to-time the theatre offers a variety of events and activities, such as: karaoke night, a free admission event with competing singers on the big screen performing!! Wow, what a sight. Other events available from time-to-time are SEC football, live jazz in the evening, sometimes on Sundays free pro football, jazz in the afternoon, and dinner theatre performances on Sunday night at 7 PM.
