Local residents and visitors gathered at the Sierra County Fair Barn on Saturday and Sunday, November 20-21 for the first of many Christmas Arts and Crafts fairs. The unique event provided early holiday shoppers with a wide assortment of handcrafted items, art, and a variety of gift ideas.
Throughout both days, a stream of curious shoppers browsed over tables filled with everything from fine art and jewelry to novelty items and semi-precious stones. The Sierra County Fair Association held its annual dinner and awards night at the Sierra County Fairgrounds November 23. Serving as master of ceremonies was county extension program director Dee Wear, who welcomed everyone and invited them all to eat a great dinner of chicken or beef, along with all kinds of sides, salad and dessert.
Following dinner, fair board president Esther Schwab began the award ceremony. She first thanked everyone for attending and supporting the county and its youth throughout the year.
