The Ronald W. Shane Center is an organization dedicated "to promote and develop amateur water sports competition for adults, youth, students and under privileged individuals in South Florida." The charter of the Center is grounded in the beliefs of its founder, Dr. Ron Shane, that giving back to the community and providing resources to anyone willing to participate is the most important aspect of the organization. Head of the Indian Creek
The 18th annual Head of the Indian Creek on October 17th, 2010, was a success. Race categories included the entire range of competitors (high school, masters, colleges and open classes) from recreation singles to championship eights. RESULTS!
The national junior rowing team that practiced at The Miami Beach Rowing Club in the summer of 2009 -- and led by Miami Beach head coach -- placed 17th at the World Rowing Junior Championships in Brive la Gaillarde, France. This marks the U.S. Junior Men's Quadruple Scull Team's best finish in its category.
