By creating a fund with us now, or a legacy gift for the future, you can help to strengthen the arts, support education, keep a struggling family from homelessness, protect an ailing senior from isolation--the only limit is your imagination.

You can take part in the community-wide effort to help individuals and families on the verge of homelessness and have your contribution matched! The Community Foundation of Sarasota County's 10-year partnership with the Herald Tribune Media Group is expanded with new partners, and there are matching dollars available.

Foundation's New "Pitching for Projects" Event Results in $101,951 in Grants

Twenty-eight nonprofits--large and small-- had an opportunity to participate in a Speed Dating event in October that the Community Foundation of Sarasota County dubbed Pitching for Projects & Programs. This event presented a new way for organizations of many sizes, types and various missions to present their engaging pitches for funding of a new or existing program up to $5,000.

The Sarasota Bay Club Employee Scholarship Fund recently awarded its very first adult learner scholarship. A $1,000 scholarship was awarded to Sharon Krause, office manager and scheduler of ClubCare Home Health Agency at Sarasota Bay Club, to pay tuition at Sarasota County Technical Institute.

Every year, the Community Foundation of Sarasota County makes it possible for nonprofit organizations serving the needy to provide holiday meals to the community. Recently, nine local agencies received a total of $98,000 from the Kathleen K. Catlin Advised Fund for holiday supplies.

Tana Sandefur has long supported organizations like the State College of Florida, Circus Sarasota, Florida Studio Theatre and the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, where she serves as a trustee. Watch a short video to learn why she shares her generosity through the Community Foundation.
