Scott is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in the area of Labor and Employment Law. Less than 5% of Florida attorneys are Board Certified in their respective areas of the law. For nearly three decades, Scott has helped hundreds of men and women solve their work-related problems. His clients have been officer level executives and managers with contract disputes, severance issues, non-compete issues, and employees facing discrimination on the job, or termination, due to age, disability, gender, or due to medical leave, health expenses and/or insurance issues. In 1986, Scott obtained the first reported multi-million dollar verdict ($3.3 million) in the United States on behalf of a single employment discrimination victim in Vance v. Southern Bell Tel. & Tel. Co. Since that time he has helped hundreds of other victims of discrimination resolve their cases, including "seven-figure" settlements. In 2009, Scott and his staff recovered nearly $6 million on behalf of his clients, representing no more than 10 clients at a time.

Scott Fortune has won dozens of jury trials in state and federal courts since 1985 and has settled hundreds more without the necessity or risk of trial. Scott has a reputation for being tenacious and creative while advocating for his clients. He is rated "AV" by his peers, which is the highest rating an attorney can receive concerning ethics and legal ability. He is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, in several federal courts, and all courts in the State of Florida. He has been teaching trial skills to other lawyers from around the country since 1993 as a faculty member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. He is also certified as a mediator by the Florida Supreme Court. Scott is also a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, The Florida Bar, and the Jacksonville Bar Association.
