Family Life Ministries of NW Florida (FLM), formerly Family Life Center of Fort Walton Beach was founded in 1986 out of a desire to meet the needs of women facing a “crisis pregnancy.”
In 1987 FLM opened the Ronda Coon Maternity Home with a goal to assist pregnant women who needed shelter and support during their pregnancy. The maternity home is one of the few in the state of Florida and the only one in Northwest Florida authorized to house minors. Residents of the maternity home live in a loving Christian atmosphere and are encouraged to continue their education or employment. While living in the Ronda Coon Maternity Home, residents are provided many different opportunities to learn more about childbirth, parenting, and life after pregnancy. House Parents live on the premises with the residents and they along with others help to mentor the residents and advance their parenting skills.
In 2005, FLM opened the Sozo Life Connection medical clinic and pregnancy resource center which provides services both to male and female clients.
As we have grown our focus has expanded from women in crisis pregnancy to our present direction of protecting life from pre-birth to the elderly. Recently, we have increased our focus on teenagers. We have added some teen oriented training to our library of services and are reaching into the high schools, and middle schools to help and provide support where we can.
