Melvin A. Rubin is a professional in dispute resolution with over 20 years of experience. Additionally, Mr. Rubin conducts state-certified and tailor-made mediation training courses, speaks to audiences ranging from several dozen to over a thousand on cutting-edge dispute resolution topics, and provides consulting services in the area of dispute resolution to corporations and professionals. Above all, Mr. Rubin believes in a creative approach to dispute resolution and mediation that reflects the specific circumstances and needs of each individual client.
Mr. Rubin conducts suit and pre-suit mediations, pre-suit pro se mediations, and private mediations. His broad experience includes complex commercial and corporate disputes, Federal class action suits involving over 30,000 class members, the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Customs, the State of Florida, and county and city government cases throughout Florida. He is currently the President of the American College of Civil Trial Mediators, and has been consulted in reference to the creation and goals of the International Mediation Institute.
Mr. Rubin conducts suit and pre-suit mediations, both with and without lawyers, in all areas of family mediation, including divorce, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, paternity suits, will contests, probate cases, and family business formation and dissolution. As a family law litigator, he has handled numerous international cases involving many countries, including Pakistan, Columbia, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, Argentina and Mexico. He is on the National Board of Advisors of the International Association of Collaborative Professionals and has been lecturing on the value of collaborative divorce in reference to children and families since its inception.
Mr. Rubin has trained over 6,000 professionals including former Florida Supreme Court Justices and an ABA president in mediation, arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution. He conducts regularly scheduled, Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil and Family Mediation training courses and has trained internationally in both North and South America as well as Europe and the Caribbean. He is also available to conduct tailor-made training courses for any organization or group of individuals wishing a customized training program. Most recently, he has specialized in educating dispute resolution professionals in the areas of disaster mediation and defensive mediation.
