Victor Holman founded the PPA in order to reduce tensions the police have when approaching the 6.6 million African Americans and Hispanics between the ages of 15-44. Improved training, transparency, accountability and communication between law enforcement and communities is vital in making a change. And the PPA serves these needs.
The Police Performance Advocacy is a non-profit organization that delivers quality solutions that bridge the gap between law enforcement and our communities, especially low income communities with high crime and large minority populations.
CopCritic mobile application and website is the first live streaming mobile application and website designed the keep our community safe and hold aggressive and unfair officers accountable for their actions. CopCritic alerts the youth's parents and sends them a link to the live stream, so transparency and accountability are maintained. Members and site visitors can view the live streams and rate officer performance. Most importantly, it reduces the tensions of officers, and gives our children a better chance at a fair and just encounter. Viewers hit thumbs up and thumbs down in the part of the videos where they believe officers perform above or below performance standards. Feedback and analytics will be used to improve police training and to weed out officers with a history of aggressive behavior.
The PPA’s community/law enforcement forum is a community of CopCritic where police can ask questions and get public feedback and insight. Specific streams can be referenced and discussed and ideas on how the situation could have been handled differently from both perspectives. This feedback can be used to improve training and educate communities on how to best handle similar situations.
The PPA Outreach and Community Reprogramming is an outreach program where insight gained from the CopCritic Community Law Enforcement Forum can be leveraged to educate communities on how to best handle situations involving police. The goal of the PPA Outreach and Community Reprogramming program is to change the way our communities, specifically our minority youth, view law enforcement and local authorities.
Our Vision
All police violence with unarmed citizens will be avoided because the public is using CopCritic as a tool to share their experiences, voice their opinions and promote change.
Each of the 14,506 law enforcement departments in the United States will have access to PPA’s data with unique recommendations for how they can improve performance and public perception, and eliminate unarmed accidental shootings and violence.
