Tom Young’s Summary
The general public has been too often misled and denied the whole truth regarding the issues surrounding the current state of the Civil Justice System and the professionals working hard to defend it. As plaintiff trial attorneys, we know what we do and why we do it. We also know that the overwhelming majority of lay people have a vastly different view of the role of the trial lawyer in society. This view, more often than not, is a very negative one.

So what can we do? My goal is to educate plaintiff attorneys on methods that counter and combat orchestrated disinformation. We do this by working together to develop personal online and offline marketing and public relations strategies. We must take advantage of technology and other opportunities to get the word out and change the conversation. The conversation is happening right now, with or without us. We can either choose to let others define the parameters of the discussion, or, we can proactively set the record straight.

Finally, this approach is not only the right thing to do, but it is also financially rewarding for law firms that execute the strategy. Doing well by doing good.
