One of the initiatives in which the EU has been working since August 2012 is the FUSIONS project (Food Use for Social Innovation by Optimizing Waste Prevention Strategies), with the aim of significantly reducing food waste through social innovation and prevention strategies.

Register of social initiatives against food waste

Within the framework of this project, a register of existing social innovation initiatives dedicated to reducing food waste in the EU has been drawn up in order to disseminate good practices and promote the adaptation of new ideas and their adoption in other sectors or countries. In total, more than 100 initiatives from EU countries are collected.
