Hi and welcome to CitrusEquine.com. This website was created by me, Jennifer A. Brust DVM, to provide information about my exclusive equine veterinary practice that services the Citrus, Hernando and Sumter Counties in west central Florida. My mission is to provide superior veterinary care by staying up to date on recent advances in medicine and educating my clients about proper care of their horses in the sometimes challenging Central Florida environment that we live in. This kind of care requires a strong bond of trust between myself and my clients fostered by good communication and my sincere care for the wellbeing of their horses.

I was born in Florida and grew up here and in north Georgia. When I was growing up we had a variety of farm animals and knew I wanted to be a vet when I was in 3rd grade. I went to the University of Georgia and received a degree in animal science and then continued on at the University of Georgia Veterinary School. After I finished in 1998, I moved to Tampa where I started my veterinary career with Odessa Equine Clinic. I stayed with that practice of 4 veterinarians until Jan. '06 when I moved to Floral City and opened Citrus Equine Clinic. I love the rural area of Citrus County and I enjoy working for myself. I have a few horses of my own and having them on my own property instead of being boarded somewhere is a nice change. Over the years I have developed a special interest in reproduction and have a few broodmares due to foal next year. Look for me driving around in the red truck with the red G plate.... GO DAWGS!!
