Crohn's Disease (CD) is an inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. It can occur in any section of the GI tract from the mouth to the anus, however, it affects the ileum (small intestine) & the colon (large intestine) in most cases.
Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a disease that causes inflammation & ulcerations, only in the lining of the colon or rectum. It affects men & women equally, most commonly those between 15-30, presenting with cramps, diarrhea and rectal bleeding.
