Centuries ago a pastor living in times of great uncertainty penned words that capture the deepest longings of our souls. "You have made us for yourself, O God. And our hearts are restless until they rest in you. The world is filled with restless hearts. An uncertain economy, international tensions, deterioration in the family, increased feelings of isolation and unfulfilled dreams leave people with a vague sense of confusion, even fear. Our great desire at Christ the King is to find, and help others find, the peace and rest that come to those who know and trust Jesus Christ. We are a group of pilgrims walking together as we seek to follow our risen King. We believe that there is great hope to be found in relationship to Him. We believe that He has come into this world to bring release to captives; to set prisoners free. We believe that His gospel is the good news of forgiveness for the guilty, restoration for the broken and freedom for the enslaved. And our great hope is that He will return to complete what he has begun in each of our lives, leading His people into the full enjoyment of a new earth, liberated from the strife, brokenness and pain that each of us must face day to day. We welcome you to Christ the King and invite you to come and walk with us!
Christ the King Presbyterian Church is a member congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America. The PCA was formed in 1973 with core beliefs that include a confidence in the Bible as the Word of God, the necessity of trust in the person of Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Savior of sinners and a commitment to the world-wide proclamation of the good news of salvation in Him. We embrace the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms as representing the best human expression of the teaching of Scripture.
