Thoughts from Pastor Holloman
Marriage and heaven - it was a question that was asked of Jesus trying to trap him. But in his answer, along with other passages, we can see that there is truly a connection between these two things. One is of this world or as Jesus would say (this age) and one is of another world (or the age to come).

Celebration Second Service
We have begun a second service here at Celebration. This service is at 11:00 am Sunday mornings.

What kind of difference will your shoe box make?
Seeing childrens faces light up when they receive shoe box gifts is a joy that will never grow old for me. God has blessed Operation Christmas child beyond anything we ever imagined. This Samaritans Purse outreach would not be possible without the faithful prayers and unwavering commitment of individuals, families, churches and groups throughout the United States. Millions of children are hearing the Good News of the Savior in our follow-up discipleship programs overseas and many are coming to faith in Jesus Christ. Thank you for making an eternal difference in these precious lives, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these (Matthew 19:14). God bless you! Franklin Graham

Information as to how to do a shoe box is in the narthex.

Marilyn & Joe Owens along with Annette Goodnight are compiling a new Celebration Cookbook. We need your favorite recipes and anecdotal suggestions to be printed and sold to benefit the AGAPE fund of our church. If it was your moms and you liked it so much you kept it, we would like to share it with others. With the upgraded copier the office has along with having a binding machine in the office, we are able to print these at a very low cost.

The term agape is rarely used in ancient manuscripts, but was used by the early Christians to refer to the self-sacrificing love of God for humanity, which they were committed to reciprocating and practicing towards God and among one another It is the word most used in Scripture that is translated "love" in the bible to describe the love we are to have for one another.

This fund, near depleted in our church, is used to assist others in a time of need and we need to replenish this fund. All proceeds from the book will be donated to this fund to help others. If you can help with this mission of love, please send us your submission and just maybe you will find a new favorite in the completed edition. Please submit recipes and ideas to Marilyn Owens or Annette Goodnight.

We have had a few people volunteer to be apart of this care ministry to our shut-ins. We are still looking for a few more people who could help out with this ministry of compassion that says "we will not forget you."

Marilyn Owens and Jan Wilson have been doing a lot of this and they are looking for people who could help in this area. We need people who could fill one of more of several different roles:

Letter writers and telephone callers: As loneliness is one of the biggest problems shut-ins face, we need those who can write cards, or make phone calls or visit these people in our congregation who have found themselves in this stage of life.

Visitation people: People who can make visits to see those shut in.

The goal is to make 5 or more contacts a week to each shut-in by the various means. This will enable us to keep up with them as well as discover ways in which we can minister to them. If you can help, please let me or Marilyn Owens know.
