WELCOME TO BLACKROCK BAPTIST
serving Nassau County (Florida) from the Peak of the Rock
Quote from Pastor Mike Bowen
""The Bible is the only sword that when it cuts you it will heal you instead of hurt you."
Trunk or Treat
October 31 at 5:00 PM - The church parking lot will be lined up with cars that have open trunks decorated in Halloween dcor and filled with candy. The children can go trick or treating from car to car dressed in their favorite costume collecting candy. In addition to this, there will be free food, hayrides, numerous carnival games and a silent auction available. As the little superheroes, princesses, and other characters are finished collecting candy, the church will have an outdoor concert with The Anchorman - a well known gospel group with a special appearance from Greg Chapmen of Calvary’s Voice. With their antics of playful pop, the Anchormen's silly placement of loosely structured content stuck out amongst the musical inspiration of their hometown of Somerville, MA - this group is a sure crowd pleaser.
SO DECORATE YOUR CAR AND JOIN THE FUN! Please NO SCARY costumes.
Calvary's Voice (www.calvarysvoice.org and their facebook page) is a male trio based out of Florida consisting of Greg Chapman, Bryan Hatton, and Daniel Crews. The trio organized in October 2005 with a desire to witness to the lost, encourage Christians, and to be the “Voice of Calvary.” They pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will continue to bless and use their ministry to spread His word in song. They have been Nominated as Horizon Group of the Year.
Greg Chapman, the baritone for the group, is no stranger to Southern Gospel music. He and his wife, Shelly have three sons and now live in Yulee, Florida and attend Blackrock Baptist Church. Blackrock Baptist Church considers themselves blessed to have to have this family as members.

Food Pantry Ministry
With the economy dropping, we are seeing a rise in needs. Especially with food. So in order to try and help meet the needs of those who come in for assistance, we are starting a small Food Pantry. Through this pantry we will also try to meet there greatest need........Jesus Christ!
That is the mission of this outreach, but we need your help. We are in need of non-perishable food items. We will have a collection box in the foyer or you may bring them by the office through the week. Thank you for your help and pray that we are able to meet physical as well as spiritual needs.
