Our goal at Book Me A Charter is to provide the best Inshore and Offshore Fishing, Oystering and Tour guide services in the area. Our captains are experienced in the waters of the Apalachicola Area including the Gulf of Mexico.
We are located in Franklin County, Florida, on the Apalachicola Bay, approximately 70 miles west of Tallahassee, and approximately 60 miles east of Panama City. (See our FAQ page for a map.) We are small fishing communities that some call the "Forgotten Coast", but we call it Paradise. Our seafood is world renowned, while our fishing is excellent. Our sunrise and sunsets on the water are absolutely, breathtaking. We have the Apalachicola River, the Apalachicola Bay, and the Gulf of Mexico in our backyard. We have the best of it all here in our little laid back and hidden Paradise!
Go Oystering Our local guides will take you on a real oysterboat and teach you the art of oyster harvesting. We natives of Apalachicola Bay are often asked, "How do you pick up oysters with those sticks?" Book an oystering cultural tour with one of our captains and find out exactly how they do it. During your oystering tour, we will demonstrate how to tong, cull and harvest oysters from a legal harvest area. Yes, you can take your catch home with you -Florida law limits two recreational bags per boat. (Occasionally, due to water conditions, part or all harvest areas are closed. That doesn't mean that we can't show you how to harvest, it simply means that oysters can't be removed from the area or eaten.) Watch the professional commercial fishermen as they do their daily jobs in the same way they have been harvesting for over 150 years. While on the water you may see crab boats, shrimp boats, and of course oyster boats.
Go Fishing We offer Apalachicola Bay, River and Gulf of Mexico fishing-full and half day charters. Most of our guides were at one time commercial fishermen, so they know where the fish are. Our expert guide fishermen are familiar with these waters and know how and where the fish feed. Our guides are highly sought after, so book early to insure your trip with one of our local guidesmen. On your River Fishing trip, you may catch Bass, Bream, Catfish, Perch, or Trout. On your Bay Fishing trip, you may catch Redfish, Trout, Sheephead, Drum, Tripletail, Flounder or Mackerel. On your Gulf Fishing trip, you may catch Grouper, Snapper, Sea Bass, Mackerel, Dolphin (mahi-mahi), Amberjack, Wahoo and a variety of many others. Here in Paradise, we have it all! So, which do you prefer, fishing the River, Bay, or Gulf?
Go Touring Go sightseeing with one of our Informative Captains, let the wind blow through your hair, breathe the fresh salt air. Watch the boats as they harvest seafood, be it oysters, shrimp or fish, and sometimes talk to the fishermen as they work. Dolphins are a frequent sight on our tours, listen as they come up for air, watch as they suddenly appear from nowhere. There are four barrier islands, they are Dog Island, St. George Island, Little St. George Island and St. Vincent Island. Go see the barrier islands that surround the Apalachicola Bay. You can go shelling or exploring, Our river is full of wildlife- turtles, birds, and of course alligators. These are just few of the things that you may see on our tour.
