It has been a while since we put out our last Newsletter so we thought it was high time that we brought you all up to date with the latest developments in and around Richards Pool Service.
Firstly, some may have noticed a couple of new faces around cleaning your pools. This is because Tracy is expecting a baby girl in May. Therefore we needed to move a few pools around. Eric has taken on the majority of Tracys pools and Jimmy, our new staff member, is temporarily looking after most of Erics. We are expecting Tracy back as soon as she is fit and able. Lee has married since the last newsletter and his wife, Tiffany, is also expecting later in the summer. Well let you know when the babies arrive. We hope to be able to keep Jimmy on when Tracy returns but will need some more pools to look after to be able to accomplish this. Therefore, we would like to offer a $50 Gift Card to any customer who recommends a friend, relative or neighbor for our service. We will send out the gift card upon the completion of the first months paid service. No limit on how many you recommend!!!
Secondly, we are proud and delighted to tell you that our daughter, Melissa, has been accepted to study at the Burnett Honors College at the University of Central Florida. She intends to major in Early Childhood Education. She will be graduating from the International Baccalaureate School in Bartow this year. She has really enjoyed her time at the school and leaves as Senior President of the National Honors Society, Vice President of the Class of 09 and a member of the Polk County branch of PRIDE. This is a Performing Arts Organization who campaign against the use of drugs and alcohol in teenagers. Our son, Tom, is at the same school and he will be going off to college next year oh dear what will we do then!!!
Now the fun part. Paying for college. So if anyone knows of any scholarship opportunities or works for a company that offers scholarships, we would be very pleased to hear from you. You can call us on our regular number, 863-648-9657 or e-mail us a steve@richardspoolservice.com.
If anyone ever visits our website at www.RichardsPoolService .com, you may have noticed it has changed recently. It has been redesigned so that it is easier to post updates, new product information and helpful hints on a more regular basis. If you dont have access to the internet, please let us know and well send you out a hard copy every now and again.
Now, for a spot of housekeeping. We would like to update our database with current contact details as sometimes we have difficulty getting hold of customers when we need to get authorization for repairs required as the cleaners go about on their daily rounds. We would like to request that you send us an e-mail with your current address and any contact numbers such as home, work and cell phone numbers. Obviously, we will have your e-mail address when you send it. Please send your e-mail to steve@richardspoolservice.com.
Last year, we piloted an automatic credit card payment program with a number of customers. This proved very successful as we were paid in a timely manner and the customer gained the benefit of deferring their payment and collecting the points offered by many of the credit card companies at the moment. We are able to take both Mastercard and Visa. If you would like more details, please just give us a call and we can set it up.
Finally, we have been looking at our pricing and have decided that in the current economic climate, it would be difficult to justify raising our prices. Even though our cost of business has risen, the decline in gas prices has meant that our costs are under control. One area we do have a problem with, however, is overdue payments. Therefore, from 1st March 2009, there will be a 10% late fee applied to the balance on all accounts 30 days past due. If an account reaches 60 days past due, we will cease service and we will place the account in the hands of our collection agents. This may seem a little harsh, but cash flow is the lifeblood of our business and without taking these measures, a small company such as ours may have to start laying off staff, which is not something we want to do -especially with babies on the way!!
