D.S. Franks & Associates, Inc. is a state authorized civil engineering firm dedicated to excellence in the inspection of surface water management systems, which are better known simply as drainage systems. Our specialty is performing SWFWMD Operation & Maintenance Inspections, and providing the inspection reports and certifications necessary to comply with SWFWMD permits.
We began specializing in SWFWMD inspection reports in 1998 while doing business as Bay Engineering, Inc., during which time we also designed commercial sites. Later, when we decided to shift our specialty completely to SWFWMD inspections, we also decided to change our name to D.S. Franks & Associates, Inc.
Our company provides top quality engineering services in the specialized fields of hydraulics and hydrology. Hydraulics involves the behavior of water, both in its static form (standing still) and in its dynamic form (flowing). Hydrology is used to develop model storms for designing and analyzing hydraulic systems. A solid background in both fields is necessary for an Engineer to competently perform SWFWMD inspections and reports.
