What is a periodontist?
A periodontist is a dental specialist who typically has two to three years of additional training in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease and in the placement of dental implants. Additionally, periodontists can perform cosmetic periodontal procedures to improve your smile. Often, treatment by a periodontist is necessary when gum disease has advanced or dental implants are being considered for replacement of a single or multiple missing teeth. Though most patients are referred by their dentists for periodontal care, a referral to our office is not necessary if you would prefer that a specialist manage your periodontal care or be involved in your dental implant therapy.
When you visit our office, your oral health is our top priority. Our entire team is dedicated to providing you with the personalized, gentle care that you deserve.
Our foundational philosophies are to help you select and then implement the most predictable, simple, and cost-effective treatment with the greatest long-term benefit to you. We will strive to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. We are here to listen to your questions and concerns and to help provide solutions leading to your better oral health.
Dr. Wilson believes that your right to choose a dentist is an important freedom. We work closely with your dentist, but the referral by a dentist is not required to visit our office. We also welcome referrals from patients and friends of the practice.
