Dr. Vassallo is certified in the use of most ophthalmic lasers. In fact he owns five lasers which he routinely uses to treat secondary cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and retinal problems. He is certified to use the new Excimer laser for Lasik, PRK and PTK (surgery to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and corneal scarring). He also performs the new Restor and Crystalens intraocular lens implantations as an alternative to lasik and other refractive surgical procedures.
