Kern & Associates CPA, P.A. combines traditional tax services with the services provided by its affiliate, J. D. Kern & Associates, Inc., which specializes in QuickBooks consulting, bookkeeping, and part-time CFO and controller services for small businesses that are not quite ready for a full-time controller.

In the early years, most small businesses are focused on taxes, and we provide these traditional services, including determining the right tax structure for your business, providing assistance with filing the necessary forms with taxing agencies, and preparation of the tax return itself. But we also recognize that later on, most businesses, and paticularly those in a growth mode, may find that their tax return alone is not telling the owner what he or she needs to know in order to manage their business, or what lenders need to know in order to finance the growth of their business.

For the above reasons, we not only provide tax preparation and planning, but also place an equal amount of emphasis on "financial reporting" for managing your business and funding purposes, which is more critical to enabling your company to grow profitably without major disruptions to cash flow, and we do this from the start. And yes, contrary to what some believe, it IS true, you can "have it both ways!"
