An attraction like no other, natural coastal Florida comes alive at Tampa Electric’s Manatee Viewing Center. Feel the force of a hurricane. Study manatee bones. Or stroll along a 900-foot tidal walkway. And when the water temperature of Tampa Bay is 68 degrees Fahrenheit or colder, get up close with the center’s most popular visitors – manatees, sometimes hundreds at a time. Be sure to mark your calendar for Jan. 15 and 16, 2011, when the center celebrates its 25th anniversary with two days of excitement and special events!

Tampa Electric prepares year-round for hurricane season
Hurricane season runs from June 1 to Nov. 30, but Tampa Electric prepares year-round to deal with the potential impacts of hurricanes and widespread power outages. Tampa Electric’s comprehensive storm plan is in place and ready to help restore power as safely and quickly as possible in the event of severe weather. The company also recommends that customers have a storm plan in place for their homes or businesses. You can access Tampa Electric’s Customer Care contact numbers, payment mailing address, payment locations and even link to online bill payment. Report a power outage
Call toll-free 1-877-588-1010 to report a power outage or public safety concern. Our automated system matches your phone number or account number to your address, helping us pinpoint the outage. To fully utilize the system, update your primary and alternate phone numbers. The system can recognize your phone numbers and account number and match them to your residential or business address when you call, helping us locate outages quickly. If you have not updated your phone numbers when you call the system, you will need to enter your account number for the system to recognize your address. Download and print this handy reminder card in English or Spanish and keep it in a convenient location.
Our outage map provides real-time power outage information that is updated every 15 minutes. Find out the size of the outage, estimated restoration time and approximate number of customers affected. The outage map page also includes a toll-free number to report an outage through our automated power outage system, safety tips and more.
