The target market comprises a seven county area in central Florida including: Charlotte, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Highlands, Okeechobee and Polk. Primarily rural in nature, the area is agricultural based with small spread out towns.

The aging of the baby boomer generation, those born from 1946 to 1964, will soon result in older people outnumbering children for the first time in history.
Floridas communities are working to prepare for the baby boomers retirement by removing artificial barriers and incorporating universal designs into the planning stages of new homes, businesses, landscaping and transportation.
Elders make a significant contribution to Florida s economy and help protect the State from economic downturns.
Florida residents between the ages of 55 and 74 have the largest discretionary income of any age group, spending $39.9 billion each year in Florida, second only to the amount spent by tourists. With more than half of Florida's elders 75 and older having incomes less than $25,000 per year, many elders don't have access to assisted living as an alternative to Medicaid nursing home placement because they cannot afford to pay for this community alternative.
Highlands Village is an assisted living facility with 44 residents and is currently licensed for 45 residents, 15 private pay and 40 government assistance accepted. The building was created as an assisted living facility in 1966 and has changed hands over the years. We have upgraded the fire alarm system to meet the new standard of codes. Many enhancing building repairs to exterior and interior have been completed. Under the management team of Lomonico Management Corporation d/b/a Highlands Village has efficiently provided affordable housing with care and kindness since 2003. The facility is a well tuned efficiently running organization after many recent changes in following the state codes. The facility is a standalone building located across from a popular lake in Sebring, Lake Jackson. 12 available beds face the lake, 14 available beds face the beautifully groomed courtyard. All of our rooms are the cleanest in the entire county. We provide personal care and 24 hour on duty staffing, housekeeping services, laundry services, nutritional home cooked meals 3 times a day, 2 healthy snacks a day, assistance with all the activities of daily living as outlined in Florida state requirements, exercise programs, all of our staff are trained in medication management, CPR, First Aid and many other training programs offered in house. In addition, we provide carefully controlled heat and air conditioning, social activities and recreational programs and outings to suit a wide range of tastes.
The current management team has affiliations throughout the state with the Department of Children and Families and has marketing liaisons with the local home health agencies, physicians and medical clinics for referrals to increase the amount of residents to full capacity. Sebring is a highly seasonal area with most of the traffic coming in from September to April from northern most areas.

Our mission is to provide information and assistance for financial and medical benefits to needy and homeless individuals referred to our facility. And to preserve the perpetual existence of Friends of Highlands Village, Inc and their commitment to serve the community into the future, helping to eradicate homelessness.

Conveniently located off Lake Jackson in Sebring, FL. Office hours are 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday. Our facility is operated with trained personnel 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
