I've been repairing clocks since 1967. I am the factory authorized service tech for the Howard Miller Clock Co. as well as Sligh and Ridgeway. I service antique as well as contemporary grandfather, wall and mantle clocks.
I give free estimates on repair costs for clocks brought to me. Usually I can tell a client what the estimate will be for a grandfather clock repair after a questions during a telephone discussion. I make "house calls" for grandfather repairs. I do set ups and preparation of grandfather clocks for moving.
Most people don't realize their clocks should be serviced every two years. A clock is not like a refrigerator. As long as your food is cold and the ice cream is hard, you don't tend to service the refrigerator a clock on the other hand is more like in automobile in that regular servicing is very important to prevent premature wearing of the pivots and bushings.
