MARION U. WEHNER, EA.
Marion Wehner has been an accountant and tax preparer for over 30 years. She received her degree from the College of Idaho and did post graduate studies at Rutgers University. The "EA" behind her name stands for Enrolled Agent, which means she has passed an extensive testing program and is licensed to represent clients independently before the IRS and Tax Court. Marion has taught classes for tax professionals and lectured at seminars on taxes and entrepeneurship. Her son, Erik, has joined her in the practice to form Wehner Financial Services, LLC. She and her youngest son also own Wehner's School of the Arts, which has shared space since 1987. Marion is married and has three grown sons and seven grandchildren.
Katrina (Katie) Smailis joined the practice in 1999. Originally from Chicago, Ill., Katie was stationed in Jacksonville with the U.S. Navy and retired in 1999 as a Chief Petty Officer after 24 years active duty. She served in the Disbursing Office handling military and civilian payroll, travel and other financial operations. She has been preparing taxes since 1985 and brings a high level of computer skills to the office.
JOHN G. SCHAEDEL, CFP
John Schaedel holds a degree from the University of Cincinnati, and a MBA degree from Michigan State University. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Commander after 23 years service with the Supply Corps. In 2000 he retired as Vice President of Financial Counseling from Jax Navy Federal Credit Union after 9 1/2 years. The "CFP" behind his name stands for Certified Financial Planner, which means he has passed an extensive testing program, and he is licensed as a Certified Financial Planning Practitioner. He joined the practice as a financial counselor in 2001, and upgraded his certification in 2002 to allow him to assist during tax season as a preparer. John is married (his wife, Linda, is the office manager for Wehner Financial) and has 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren.
ERIK J. WEHNER, EA
Erik Wehner received his tax certification in 2003, his Enrolled Agent certification in 2007, and in 2008 joined with his mother to form Wehner Financial Services, LLC. He has an Associate's Degree from Santa Fe College with continuing education in Accounting. He previously served as an officer with the Gainesville Police Department and Clay County Sheriff. While Erik is certified in general tax preparation, he is specializing in taxes for Law Enforcement and Firefighters. Erik also handles account management on bookkeeping and payroll accounts. Erik is married and has 2 daughters.
