A group of 29 foreign delegates served at the Mission. These esteemed visitors whose visit was arranged by the International Visitor Corps of Jacksonville, the local partner for the U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program were a welcome volunteer force for our lunch service.
We hope so have them stop by the Mission on their next visit to the United States.
Do you know what hunger feels like? Do you know that painful, empty, grumbling feeling in your stomach? That dizzy feeling that comes from skipping a meal?
One thing that continues to impress me is how Clara White treats its clients with dignity and respect. I have had several negative experiences with homeless shelters and soup kitchens in the past, and have never seen an organization that cares as deeply for those it serves as does Clara White.
