Winter Uniforms Reminder

Please review the winter uniform requirements taken from our 2010-2011 Student Handbook:
Girl’s Winter Uniform
PK-4 through third grade girls wear uniform plaid jumper, white blouse with Peter Pan collar and navy blue cross tie
Fourth through sixth grade girls wear uniform plaid skirt (no shorter than 2 above the top of the knee), white short or long-sleeved shirt, and navy blue cross tie. The shirt must be tucked in at the waist.
All girls must wear navy blue shorts under the uniform skirt or jumper unless wearing tights. The shorts must not show below the hem line.
Navy blue, black or white tights, or ankle length leggings may be wornunder the jumper or skirt.
All girls wear white or navy blue socks.
Navy blue slacks with long sleeved white polo style shirt with embroidered school logo.
Boy’s Winter Uniform
All boys wear navy blue pleated or plain front slacks
Boys in PK-4 and Kindergarten wear the white golf shirt (long or short sleeve) embroidered with the school logo.
Boys in grades one through six wear white long or short-sleeved dress shirt and navy blue tie. Shirts must be worn tucked into pants.
Undershirts at any grade level must be white, free of pictures or writing, and must not show.
All boys wear navy blue, black or white socks.
All boys must wear a solid black, brown, or navy belt if pants have belt loops. Only the SJEDS Logo is allowed on any clothing (sweaters, sweatshirts, socks, jackets, shirts).

4th Annual Golf & Tennis Classic

The 4th Annual Golf & Tennis Classic will take place on Monday, December 6th at Hidden Hills Country Club and will benefit the children of San Jose Episcopal Day School.We are excited to welcome back our title sponsor, Nimnicht Chevrolet Family of Dealerships.

Favorite Book Character Dress-up Day

On Monday, October 18th, we are encouraging the children to dress up in a costume of their favorite book character (no Halloween costumes or toy weapons, please). Parents, please make sure that the book character costume is appropriate for the school day. We will choose a winner from each class and they will receive a $10.00 gift card from Barnes and Noble. Mary Baer is our celebrity judge and will present the awards.

School Closed Monday, October 11th for Columbus Day

The school and the school office will be closed due to Columbus Day. We will reopen on Tuesday, October 12th.

Generation Celebration – Here’s the Scoop!

Generation Celebration is around the corner on Thursday, October 21st. The registration forms below include the event schedule for each grade level. Please be sure to fill out a registration form for your child and return it to school no later than Monday, October 18, so that we may plan accordingly.
Guests will enjoy visiting the classroom, meeting the teacher, an ice cream social, and browsing the book fair with your child. It is going to be a very special day!

Vision Is Priceless this Friday, October 8th

Vision Is Priceless “FREE” vision screening is coming to SJEDSthis Friday, October 8, 2010. If you would prefer to not have your child screened, please send in a note to his or her teacher by Thursday, October 7th.

Group and Individual Retakes this Thursday, October 7th

Group Pictures and Individual Picture Retakes will be this Thursday, October 7th. The children must be in their WINTER uniform. The photographer will collect the envelopes for parents paying for a group photo on Thursday. If you are retaking anindividualphoto, Leonards asks that you bring in the packet of pictures that you do not wish to keep and give it to the photographer.

Alumni Chapel Service Wednesday

Alumni: Please join uson Wednesday, September 29th for a special Chapel service in your honor. We will be taking a group photo in the courtyard at 8:15 a.m and Chapel will begin at 8:30 a.m. If you are a current parent, please have your child join you for the photo as well. We look forward to seeing you!
