Speath Engineering is a Civil Engineering Company specializing in providing land development services. These include preparation of site development plans involving sewer and water utility systems, grading and drainage design, streets and subdivision layout, landscaping and lighting, and erosion control specifications.
These services are reinforced by the necessary regulatory processing (including representation at public hearings and court reviews) to obtain all permits to construct land development projects. Speath Engineering also provides structural analysis and engineering design of buildings, bridges, and other structures.

Ellis H. Speath, Jr., P.E., founder of Speath Engineering is a 1968 Graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, MA, and is licensed to practice Civil Engineering in California, Vermont, and Florida. Mr. Speath founded his first engineering business in Sacramento, California in 1973. He sold that business (operating today under the name of Area West Engineers) in 1981, opening Speath Engineering in Manchester Center, Vermont later that same year.
In 2002, under the management of Mr. Speath's son, Matthew S. Speath, P.E., the company expanded to a second office in Fort Myers Florida offering a wide range of Civil, Structural, Planning, Consulting, Design, and Permitting Solutions.
