GLASS WATER SYSTEMS PHILOSOPHY Glass Water Systems was started with the desire to provide affordable options for water treatment. The founders of this company saw that people had asically two options when it came to purchasing water reatment equipment: 1. The Big Box Stores 2. High Pressure In Home Dealers The founders believed that those two options were not in the average consumers best interest. The Big Box Stores usually sold equipment that was the cheapest to manufacture and would often lead customers down a path of equipment misapplication. In fact, one of the number one complaints from Big Box customers involves lack of knowledge with water equipment. Even worse than the Big Box Stores, are the High Pressure In Home Sales Dealers. These dealer offer gimmicks to get into your house and then pressure you to purchase a system. The dealers would employ all tactics not to leave your house until a sale was made. As an alternative to these deplorable options, the founders developed the neighborhood retail showrooms and internet store. These showrooms and internet stores would showcase the different lines of equipment, offer free testing, and professional advice. The representatives are courteous, patient, and professional. These are not the inexperienced employee or high pressured salesman. The concept was to provide the customer enough information to make an educated decision.

Glass Water Systems is a member of the Water Quality Association. The President and his employees are trained Water Specialists. The founder is not just a name only owner, but intimately involved and trained in the water industry. Not only is the owner a Certified Water Specialist, but he has an extensive chemistry background and over a decade of experience in the water treatment industry. The employees are carefully selected Water Specialists with extensive experience in all facets of commercial, industrial and residential water treatment.

Glass Water Systems also believes in hiring consultants as needed and retains an engineer and scientist for specialized problems.

This is a picture of the founders three sons. The founder started in this business several years before his first son was born. After his birth, the founder ensured his water was tested and had the proper water treatment equipment.

WATER SOFTENER SIZING IS BASED ON THE FOLLOWING

60 gallons per person per day - total household use

Three day minimum between regenerations

Capacity between regenerations at factory salt settings or K label capacity

Number of people x 60 gallons per person x gpg of hardness x 3 days = capacity required between regenerations

Consult your factory representative for water that is 75 gpg or harder

(NOTE: for high volume households, use 75 gallons per day per person)

Maximum iron is not to exceed 1.5 mg/l total iron

Recommend the addition of a Res-Up feeder when the total iron exceeds 0.5 mg/l Water Softener - Iron Removal

This unit should be recommended only when dictated by special circumstances or the needs of the customer.

The customer should be made aware that a separate iron filter and softener is preferred because it is a more efficient way to deal with the water.

When recommending a combination unit, follow the guidelines provided in the specifications.

Water Consumption for Regeneration The volume of water used during the regeneration process of a water softener will vary depending on:

Generally, water usage for regeneration is based on the cubic feet of resin per water softener from a low of 30 gallons of water per cubic foot, up to a normal of 75 gallons of water per cubic foot, to a maximum of 100 gallons of water per cubic foot. Manufacturing specs and settings for each model size should be checked to verify exact amounts. Three Day Sizing Method

The three day sizing method is used for the following reasons:

To determine the size of the water conditioner to be used

To allow for reserve capacity between regenerations so the customer does not run out of soft water

To provide the most economical operation cost
