Welcome to the web site of Elliot M. Livstone, M.D., P.A. This web site was created to provide information about Dr. Livstone and this gastroenterology practice to potential new patients and to our present patients. It was also created to provide downloadable new patient registration forms and medical history forms, Privacy Act documents which can be viewed and downloaded, answers to general frequently asked questions about gastrointestinal disorders, and for the current patients in this practice, a private section containing essays about various gastrointestinal disorders, useful instruction sheets, diet sheets, information sheets about gastrointestinal procedures, and a list of links to other web sites which also have useful information about digestive disorders.
My office staff and I would like to tell you about our goals and our philosophy of patient care. We endeavor to provide university medical center quality diagnostic, treatment, and medical management services for people with digestive disorders. We combine modern technology with the age-old practice of taking the time to establish a doctor-patient dialogue. We want our patients to feel cared for in this practice and not rushed out of the office; we do this by providing personal attention from the doctor and from the office staff. Although endoscopic procedures are an important part of every gastroenterology practice, endoscopy is only one of the tools we utilize for diagnosis and treatment; the performance of an endoscopic procedure is not the ultimate goal itself - solving your problem and making you comfortable is our prime objective. We listen carefully to your story, perform physical examination when indicated, and, in addition to any endoscopic procedures which are indicated, obtain laboratory testing, radiological imaging, nuclear medicine imaging, breath Hydrogen gas chromatography, and M2A capsule video endoscopy (the swallowed camera capsule) - whatever it takes to gather appropriate medical evidence for a substantiated diagnosis and to formulate an appropriate treatment plan for you.
