At HPGP, we utilize a developmental curriculum published by HIGH REACH LEARNING. Our days are spent participating in activities such as
painting with brushes, hands, feet, Q-tips, marbles or whatever other interesting tools we come across. Artistic masterpieces are engineered with various materials such as paper, beads, buttons, floam, craft sticks, cotton balls and plenty of paint and glue. When we are not busy creating, we read, read, read. The children are immersed in a print-rich environment that helps with literacy concepts. Through all this fun, the children are actually working on key developmental areas such as hand-eye coordination, fine motor skill development, math concepts such as patterning, sequencing, sizing and measuring; pre-reading skills such as listening and responding, comprehension and linking spoken language to written language. More importantly, they are developing the social and emotional tools that will ready them to make that big leap to Kindergarten.
