The Historic Parker House was built in the late 1890's by Jasper Newton Parker, one of Florida's original cattle barons. The house remained in the Parker Family until 1995, when it was sold and converted into the Historic Parker House Bed & Breakfast.
Kay and Leonard Higley have captured the elegance of that time with authentic antique furnishings and Victorian decor. Guest rooms also reflect the elegance and style of that bygone era. A suite of rooms share a sitting porch and bath, while the other three feature larger rooms, each with private bath, cable TV and sitting porches. Other areas of the house are open to guests, including the living room, dining room and verandah. A central cooling and heating system has been installed to make the house comfortable in all seasons. Many garden spots have been created around the stately home for your relaxation.
Kay and Leonard invite you to visit their turn-of-the-century home, furnished with period antiques. Stay overnight in one of five comfortably appointed guest rooms and experience the charm of Arcadia, Florida - one of "The 100 Best Small Towns in America"!
Whether getting away from it all or looking for a place convenient to Florida's attractions, the Historic Parker House provides a pleasant and comfortable home away from home. Each morning a variety of fresh fruits and juices, homemade pastries and muffins, and seasonal entrees are served in the formal dining room. You will also enjoy complimentary beverages during your stay.
