Wrongful Death
It is impossible to put a price on the loss of a loved one. In wrongful death cases, we treat our clients with compassion, while providing the most aggressive representation possible.
Since 1951, "seeking justice for our clients" has been the motto and the focus of our personal injury law firm. We are a family-run law office that has compassion for our injured and grieving clients, and are also aggressive personal injury litigators who strive to win. At Powell, Powell & Powell, P.A. Attorneys at Law, our clients receive the benefit of our extensive experience and tireless preparation. We know that most personal injury cases will settle before trial. However, our lawyers prepare for each and every case with the mindset that the case will go to trial. This preparation gives our clients every possible advantage when negotiating with insurance companies.
Our firm was established in 1951 by our senior partner, Gillis E. Powell, Sr., in downtown Crestview. He followed in the footsteps of many of his relatives who were lawyers and judges in the Panhandle area, such as his grandfather, Judge A. R. Campbell, his uncle Attorney Knox Gillis, his brother Judge Lloyd C. Powell, and his cousin, Judge D. Stuart Gillis. Gillis E. Powell, Sr., served as a Circuit Court Judge from 1971 until 1977. In 1974, his eldest son, Gillis E. Powell, Jr., continued the family tradition by starting his own law practice in downtown Crestview. When Judge Gillis E. Powell, Sr., retired from his judicial position, he returned to Crestview to continue his private practice with his son. In 1986, they were joined by Dixie D. Powell, who is the younger son of Gillis E. Powell, Sr., and the brother of Gillis E. Powell, Jr. In 1991, Gillis E. Powell, Sr.’s daughter, Ava S. Powell, also joined the firm. In 1994, Gillis E. Powell, Jr.’s oldest daughter, Lacey Powell Clark, joined the firm, thus bringing three generations of Powell attorneys together and continuing the family’s legal tradition. In 2004, Lacey Powell Clark’s husband, James G. Clark, also joined the firm. Then, in 2009, Gill's youngest daughter, Ginny Powell, joined her family at the law firm.
We have two offices in Okaloosa County, with our main office located at 422 North Main Street in historic downtown Crestview, and an additional office located in Fort Walton Beach in the Santa Rosa Executive Plaza at 151 Mary Esther Boulevard, Suite 312.
We are proud to work together to offer our clients the best legal representation available. Our firm is dedicated to both our clients and our family, and we approach each case as a team committed to achieving justice for our clients. We value our family tradition of legal and public service and strongly believe that our commitment to each other as a family is a tremendous advantage and benefit to our clients.
