About Our Owner
With more than 40 years in the building and repairing of fireplaces, Horst Kugel took his apprenticeship training in Berlin Germany. He is very creative, in the laying of stone, brick, marble and granite. He has built fireplaces and did stone work for some of Tampa's more elite. John Lynch of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers™, and Brad Radke, of the Minnesota Twins™ are just two of his clients that have enjoyed his creativity and the artistic work that he provides. Kugel, lives in Tampa, but travels from Crystal River to the north to as far south as Sarasota, to ply his skills. He does installation, restoration, and renovations. Owner, Horst Kugel, was trained in Berlin, Germany, almost 50 years ago and learned the perfect techniques needed for superior fireplace installation. Try our Peterson™ unit, which is a 34x12 lava coal outdoor campfire that has 70,000 BTUs and a stainless steel burner system that is used with wood, natural gas, or propane gas.

Extensive damage can be caused by an uncapped chimney. It allows rainwater to accumulate in the smoke shelf area causing deterioration of the masonry structures and rusting of metal parts. It prevents sparks and hot ashes from blowing on to roofing material. Older fireplaces and chimneys should be inspected for soot and creosote. What causes smoking?
It could be that the chimney needs cleaning, construction problem, improper installation of damper system, deterioration or bricks missing. The damper saves energy and money. It keeps warm or cold air in the home whenever the fireplace is not in use. It may keep insects, birds, small rodents and soot out of the home. It eliminates the unpleasant odors caused by dampness from the rain.
Install chimney rain caps, built from aluminum, bronze, or galvanized stainless steel, to enhance the draw ability of your fireplace and to keep out any unwanted animals or debris. Rain caps also help protect the interior of your chimney or fireplace from deterioration caused by rain.

Our technicians go into an existing home dating back to the 1920s and tear out the firebox and replace it up through the chimney. We perform all of the repair services you need, including chimney relining, total restoration, and rebuilding all of the facing around the firebox.
