The week went from pretty good to cold, windy and just plain cruddy! Our rental units were full and there were trucks in the parking lot early in the week but then the cold front came through on early Friday and the wind blew about 30mph. and is still pretty strong. They say it will be that way tomorrow. We did get some rain which was wonderful with all this mess. Some of the neighbors reported that they caught some specks. I never did get to try again, but most of the bass were small. However, a guest from Illinois, Mitch, caught a bass that went over 8lbs. off the seawall next door!! Around here, never say never. We tried to get some shiners Thursday, but the rain did the catchers in and after that, the wind took care of the shiner situation. We still don't have any! We had some tired and true bluegill fishermen out who stayed in the trees and I saw a nice mess of big, fat bluegills and a couple of shellcrackers in a cooler. Water is going down some, which should force the bass further out into the grass. Sure hope so! The fish should be getting into the bedding mode soon, and with the water down, sometimes you can see the actual beds from our deck. Don't let this report deter you from fishing here because it has been so good. I can't control the weather and I try to send you an honest report---so till next week, good fishing and God Bless.
