The Lord God Almighty is truly awesome! By his grace and mercy he has surrounded me during this time of illness with his love and care. God has also given to me faithful doctors and friends to support me and enable me to look forward to a new adventure in my life.
For those of you who do not know, over the past month I have had a stroke and multiple other health issues that have necessitated my taking disability. I will be leaving the position as Pastor of this congregation on the last day of November. While some would think this would be a tragic event in my life, God has shown me that he has a new adventure awaiting me. It must be less stressful and demanding of my body, however, I believe that God will fill my days with hope and fulfillment in living out his will each day.
Over these past weeks God has taught me many things. He has taught me to slow down and savor the little accomplishments in life. I have learned the value of the commitment of friends. Most importantly, God has made real in my life that I am nothing if I do not place my life 100% in his care for things great and things small every day. Without God’s full leadership, the events of the past weeks could have turned out much differently and tragic. I sincerely don’t know how people get through the tough times without a full reliance on our Heavenly Father.
Whatever challenges you face today, always remember that God is with you. Place yourself in his hands and give to God the control of your life. Then trust God to bring the people and opportunities you need into your life at the appropriate time. The Bible says, “be not anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow has not come (paraphrase).” God provides for the birds of the air and the flowers of fields. He will provide for you also. Our Heavenly Father is greater than any challenge the world throws at us. Just trust in his divine care and walk hand in hand with the Master through life and you, like Brother Lawrence so many centuries ago, will be able to say that with God all things have passed satisfactorily.
I want to thank you for these past 2 1/2 years of ministry together. Since I will be continuing to live in Fort Pierce, I look forward to a new chapter in our lives together. I have great faith and see great promise in the coming of our new pastor. Please pray for her and your ministry together. May it be long and faithful to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Registration is Ongoing for the fall at First United Methodist Church Pre-School
Thursday, July 8th, 2010

Registration is ongoing for the fall at First United Methodist Church Preschool.

Preschool education with an extended day option provides education, comfort, convenience and security within the confines of our well established preschool.

Preschool registration will be “ongoing” for Parents of three and four year olds in St. Lucie County. The preschool is open to new or current students going on to the next grade. This year parents need to be aware of our Extended Day option. This would include an addtional two hours of aftercare to the current program (for an additional fee).
After surveying 212 families that live in the St. Lucie County area, we have concluded the demand for childcare continues to be sufficient. Families surveyed consistently answered, safety and curriculum were their number one priority. First United Methodist Church meets the demand for: clean and bright rooms for children, safety of a locked door facility, longevity of staff, and an existing program with easy transition into an extended day program. – Survey and Study provided by The Capstone Program of Indian River State College.
Preschool attendees will learn the academics, cross/fine motor skills, dramatic productions, and arts and crafts. In addition to guiding them academically, they will be prepared socially and emotionally to enter kindergarten successfully. Preschool attendees will share in music and arts giving the children many opportunities for self expression and creativity.

First United Methodist Preschool has served the community for over 49 years. Children are well prepared and received in all public and private schools throughout the area. Your childs time here will also provide them with valuable lifetime experiences.

Course registration is available onsite. You may fill out a form mail on this WEB SITE www.fumc-online.com and submit any questions you may have about the programs and availability. You must finalize registration onsite / Church Office 772-464-0440.
