SOUTH HABERSHAM HONORS MILITARY VETERANS
South Habersham Middle School honored military veterans Nov. 12, the day following Veterans Day. Portions of the honor presentation included a parade of veterans from all branches of the military, presentation of colors by the Habersham Central Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps and a parade of U.S. state flags.
A silhouette drama, "Freedom's Never Free," acted out for the students the ultimate sacrifice made by some members of Armed Forces when they go off to war. Sixth grader Kinley Maney read an essay in tribute to military veterans and seventh graders Noah Britton and Mason Kinsey read their letters to veterans.
North, South set for basketball season

It's time to tip off the 2010-11 middle school basketball season for North Habersham and South Habersham.
Baldwin Mayor Jerry Neace took two strong actions last week to protect Baldwin taxpayers' money.
