The Vein Clinic of South Florida, is located in the Fort Lauderdale area with offices in Weston and Lighthouse Point (Pompano Beach). The clinic was founded in 1988 by David A. D’Alessandro, M.D., F.A.C.S., a vascular surgeon, who specializes exclusively in varicose veins and the related disorder of spider blemishes.
The Vein Clinic of South Florida should not be confused with clinics and practitioners who offer one or another treatment, but not comprehensive care. Patients of The Vein Clinic of South Florida are advised that complete clearing of varicose veins is to be anticipated. Neither should we be confused with sclerotherapy-cosmetology clinics offering treatment of a host of cosmetic problems in addition to vascular ones.

Whether treatment is for varicose veins and you are looking for an alternative to ligation and stripping surgery, or whether it is strictly cosmetic, choice of practitioner is not to be taken lightly. Sclerotherapy for even spider veins is best administered by or under the direct supervision of medical doctors and varicose veins are usually best placed in the hands of qualified surgical specialists.

Dr. D’Alessandro personally provides all treatment to all clinic patients, the most common treatment being injection sclerotherapy, either liquid or foam. Minimally invasive laser and radio-frequency (VNUS ® ) may be advisable for those with more severe varicose veins. For these patients, non-surgical laser treatments administered intravenously using specialized catheters and laser conducting fibers can provide more comprehensive and enduring relief of varicose veins than has previously been possible. With incisions avoidable there are no scars and the anesthesia requirement is local only.Treatments take usually 30 to 60 minutes and patients drive home and return to work and usual activities the next day.
