ADVENT MEALS..Advent and Christmas are right around the corner. Of course, with Advent we would like to continue the Wednesday evening Advent meals. There are only 2 dates remaining: December 1 and 15. (We already have a volunteer for the 8th.) Please keep these dates in mind and consider serving and/or participating. DOPT-A-FAMILY..and..CHRISTMAS SWEATERS..and..SOCKS/UNDERWEAR
You can make a difference in a homeless familys life by contributing toward the sponsorship of a family. Put the amount you wish to contribute in your offering envelope and mark it Homeless sponsor. Please do this prior to December 20th. We will take the money that is contributed and purchase $25.00 gift certificates from Target and WalMart for each sponsored family. (Each family will receive more than one certificate.)
We are again providing a sweater for each child in the Coalitions homeless shelter. Take a name from the tree in the narthex or in the worship center in Seaman Center. Buy a sweater that meets the description on the tag, gift wrap it, and return the wrapped package under the tree by December 19th. Please do not wrap these gifts as we need to know size in order to make this gift meaningful.
The Living Resource Center has asale going on right now. There are many good Christian books for $1.00-$5.00.Boxes of everyday cards are available for $4.00, and napkins are $2.00.Beautiful T-shirts have been marked down.It is a good time to stock up on gift items.There are several versions of the Bible ready for you to give as Christmas gifts. Christmas cards and napkins are also available. Stop by and shop on Sunday during the fellowship hour in the Seaman Center.

Ascensions Year of Jubilee: Fun Facts
1998 and 1999 summers featured back-to-back mission trips to Latvia (prisons and orphanages), organized by our Mike Nowicki, Director of Christian Education and Youth. Mike and his teams introduced international mission work to Ascension.
