Mary K. Thomas is an energetic and highly successful businesswoman currently in Ocala, FL. Born in Baltimore and raised in Miami, Mary moved to Ocala to become involved in the horse business. Many of her accomplishments rise from her work in the staffing and equine industries.
When she moved to Ocala, Mary was interested in becoming a farm manager, but ended up starting a staffing agency for farms, now called Equistaff. Her specialized equine staffing agency started on a shoestring budget and is now a highly successful and diverse business; it was also the first equine staffing company in the United States. Equistaff is now available online as www.equistaff.com, winner of a technological innovation award in 2000. Equistaff was the Marion County Equine Business of the Year in 2007. Mary is a member of the Florida Thoroughbred Owners and Managers Association.
As a member of the American Staffing Association and a certified staffing consultant, Mary K. Thomas has started several extremely successful staffing firms. One of these was the runner-up Top Producing Firm in 2002 and won the Florida Back to Work Contract in 2009-2010. Mary is a former Vice President of the Florida Staffing Association and former President of the Marion Staffing Association.
This accomplished businesswoman is certified MBE, a member of the Marion County Chamber of Commerce, and was Marion County Business Person of the Year in 2008. Mary does handwriting analysis and is a member of the South East Handwriting Association. Mary also works as certified Life Coach and career counselor.
