In today's health care market, even if a person has health insurance, seeing a physician on a timely basis is not as easy as one may assume. Do I see my primary care doctor for the abdominal pain I am experiencing or should I go to the ER? Will he or she be able to diagnose and treat me for my complaint? How soon should I be seen before it becomes dangerous? These may be just a few questions that run through a patient's mind prior to being seen by a physician. The answer is not simple but very important. Across the United States there are more and more urgent care centers (express care centers, walk-in clinics, etc) opening. What exactly is an urgent care center? They all will stress "convenience" as a main component and that a patient can be seen with minimal wait times without an appointment. But convenience should not be the main deciding factor when choosing a walk-in clinic. What makes EUC unique is the fact that it has the full capabilities of an ER and staffed by a physician who is residency-trained in emergency medicine.
