I'm currently way homesick and can't wait to come back to SB soon. Woody's is the best, and I think the only place, to get real BBQ in Santa Barbara. The BBQ is smokey, sweet and delicious.
The Muleskinner Burger is amazing. Topped with BBQ sauce, bacon and onion rings, it always hits the spot. My brother-in-law always orders this, and I try to steal a bite when he's not looking. But I usually order the Lite Combo Plate, with pork ribs. It comes with a quarter BBQ chicken, and choice of two sides. It's more than enough food for two people, and I like how it has a little bit of everything.
The atmosphere is really casual and family friendly. It's the type of place with wood chips on the floor, and rolls of paper towels for napkins. After you place your order at the counter, take a seat anywhere and wait for your number to be called. There are TVs everywhere playing sports and videogames for kids. Oh, and FYI, Cruisin' USA is still the best videogame ever!
Woody's BBQ also caters events such as company picnics or private parties. I could see this being a big crowd pleaser and would definitely take the headache out of trying to cook for your party. Yum! Anyone who likes BBQ is going to love Woody's BBQ!
