Suntree Montessori is located at 2990 Business Center Boulevard, off Wickham Road, 1/4 mile south of the Pineda Causeway, in Melbourne, Florida.
Our school serves the educational needs of families in Suntree, Viera and North Melbourne. Classes are provided for children ages three through six in Montessori preschool and Kindergarten. Suntree Montessori is an AMS affiliated school.
The Montessori method of education teaches to the individual student versus teaching to the group as a whole. The curriculum is much broader than many traditional preschool and kindergarten programs.
Suntree Montessori's program is based on the philosophy of Maria Montessori. Children learn through practicing tasks, utilizing hands-on manipulatives, rather than through passive listening and remembering. Montessori materials are carefully designed and thoroughly researched to suit the developmental needs of each child. An emphasis is placed on self-discipline and self-reliance. Children learn how to meet their own needs in a safe and structured environment.
Monthly educational and fun field trips, and special events are part of our curriculum, as well as computer classes.
Parent involvement in our school is strong and greatly encouraged and appreciated.
