Give a GiftChange a Life
In an effort to help our hearts return to the roots of the Christmas spirit, in 2008 MUMC adopted a Christmas tradition called Alternative Christmas. In the midst of busy schedules and commercialization of this Holy-day, it is too easy for the season to come and go without celebrating Gods unconditional gift of love for us in His Son, Jesus. This is the Gift of gifts that changes lives. Isnt an amazing grace from God that He also gives us, His children, the ability to give in ways that literally changes others lives. The Alternative Gift program also celebrates that when we give to even the least of His brothers or sisters that we are in fact giving to Jesus, Himself. And so part of our new tradition is to provide a wrapped gift to all Alternative Christmas givers as a symbol of their gift to Jesus that can be placed under their Christmas tree until Christmas Eve when the gift is presented to Jesus at the Christmas Eve services. We pray that God richly blesses you as you celebrate Jesus this Christmas!Click below for a copy of the Alternative Gift order form. Several new giving opportunities have been added for 2010. Please use this form not only in deciding how to give this Christmas but also as a guide in praying for the various ministries to which MUMC is connected. Gifts in Honor of Friends and FamilyIn response to a popular request to facilitate making gifts in the honor of family and friends, a special Christmas Gift Card will be provided this year that participants can send to loved ones in whose honor gifts are made.
