On Saturday October, 16, 2010, St. Elizabeths held its annual pet blessing. This was the first time St. Elizabeths extended invitation to the local vets, shelters, and pet suppliers. In addition to the vendors there was music, a bounce house and sand painting for the children, free hotdogs and two services held at 11:00 AM and 1:00PM.
The day of the event couldnt have been better. The temperatures were in the low 80s, with a blue sky dotted with fluffy white cumulus clouds, and a gentle cool refreshing east breeze from the ocean.
The Sebastian Chamber of Commerce sponsored their annual Light Up Your Grill Night on Friday, August 9, 2010. It is a night when Chamber of Commerce members are showcased by the Chamber in a semi-scavenger hunt. The event is open to the community and all who participate are given a map of each business members location
As a member of the Chamber of Commerce this was the third time St. Elizabeth's has participated in the event. The following is a exerpt from the article in the Vero News written by Debbie Carson of the Vero News.
The City of Sebastian celebrated the 4th of July on Saturday July 3rd with a parade, music, vendor booths, and fireworks in Riverview Park. The day was overcast and a light wind blew off the Indian River making it a beautiful day. This year St. Elizabeth's entered the parade with a float and set up a booth in the park. It was first time the parish entered the parade.
The Sebastian American Legion and VFW posts held a Memorial Day Service in the Veteran's Park. Although the day was hot and humid over 400 were in attendance. Commander Andy Westerfield of American Legion Post 189 and a member at St. Elizabeth's lead the ceremories. The Memorial Day service involved numerous groups throughout the community. Prior to the beginning of the ceremonies, Mr. Thomas Ingui played a variety of patriotic music. Other groups in attendance were the Sebastian River High Band, two Cub Scout pack, a Boy Scout troop, Navy Sea Cadets.
