Welcome to the Tampa Bay area's home for restorative, prosthodontic dentistry.
Our patients are just like you, looking to improve the quality of their oral health and their smiles.
We help you achieve greater comfort and confidence, providing crowns, caps and bonding, bridges, partial and full dentures, implants and tooth whitening to strengthen and brighten your mouth.
We also address more demanding reconstructive needs, resulting from cleft palate, oral cancer and traumatic facial injuries.
In addition, our specialty includes helping patients with snoring and sleep disorders to adjust airways for comfortable, easy nighttime breathing.
Please look here to answer the questions you may have about your prosthodontic health. If you don't find an answer to your specific needs, please email or call us for a consultation. We look forward to seeing your beautiful smile.

Welcome to my practice. I am Dr. Frederick Muenchinger and I am a specialist in prosthodontic dentistry. My practice is located in Tampa, Florida, and while most of my patients live in the greater Tampa Bay area, some faithful old friends travel much farther.
I grew up in the metropolitan area of Detroit, Michigan. I attended The University of Michigan and received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in 1966, a Doctor of Dentistry (D.D.S.) degree in 1970 and a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Prosthodontics in 1972. I served on the faculty of The University of Michigan School of Dentistry from 1970-1975 while maintaining a private dental practice in Ann Arbor, Michigan. From 1975-1985 I practiced Prosthodontics in Traverse City, Michigan, and in January 1985 my family and I moved to Tampa and I have practiced here to date.
In 1977 I received certification by The American Board of Prosthodontics, the highest qualification and recognition given in prosthodontics. Nationally, very few prosthodontists are board certified. I was re-certified by the Board in 1998. I am licensed to practice dentistry and the Specialty of Prosthodontics in five states: Michigan, Oregon, California, Illinois, and Florida.
I am the current President of The Southeastern Academy of Prosthodontics (SEAP), and am active in the national Prosthodontic societyThe American College of Prosthodontics (ACP). I am also a consultant with The Sleep Center at University Community Hospital in Tampa and a member of the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
I hope this introduction will help you to better know me. If you have any further questions, you may email me directly at FSMuenchinger@TampaBayProsthodontics.com

There are tooth dentists and there are mouth dentists, I prefer to be a people dentist.
The mouth in its entirety is an important and even wondrous part of our anatomy, our emotion, our life; it is the site of our very being. When an animal loses its teeth, it cannot survive unless it is domesticated; its very existence is terminated; it dies. In the human, the mouth is the means of speaking, of expressing love, happiness and joy, anger, ill temper, or sorrow. It is the primary sex contact; hence it is of initial import to our regeneration and survival by food and propagation. It deserves the greatest care it can receive at any sacrifice. F. Harold Wirth, DDS
A smile creates happiness in the home. Fosters good will in business, and is the counter-sign of friends. It is rest to the weary, daylight to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and natures best antidote for trouble. Yet, it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen. For it is something that is no earthly good to anyone, until it is given away. And if someone is too tired to give you a smile, just give him one of yours anyway... For no one needs a smile as much as those who have none left to give.
Prosthodontics is yet another area of healthcare where the professionals in the United States are at the forefront. The value of well-trained, highly skilled prosthodontists should not be underestimated; it can be measured in the smiles of their patients and in the community they serve. Dan Rather
There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell cheaper, and the people who consider price only are this mans lawful prey. John Ruskin
