According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia, nearly 2% of the U.S. population is bitten by a dog each year. This translates to nearly 5 million dog bite victims per year, most of whom are children. In a 10-year period, the number of dogs rose by 2%, while the number of bites increased by 33%. About 1,000 dog bite victims arrive in hospital emergency rooms per day for treatment. Dog bite losses exceed $1 billion per year, with $345 million paid by homeowner insurance policies.

Graduate of University of Virginia with a B.A. degree and graduated from the University of Virginia Law School where I received a Juris Doctor degree.

Professional Background

Employed as a volunteer attorney with the Spanish-American Development Association of Bridgeport, CT, worked as a law enforcement officer during summer break in law school and upon graduation worked as an insurance defense lawyer in Abingdon, Virginia. I was also employed as a prosecutor in the Norfolk Commonwealth Attorneys Office until I began my own private practice where I was associated with a member of the House of Delegates of the General Assembly, and assisted in drafting certain legislation dealing with expedited proof of damages in civil matters.

In recent years I have focused on criminal and traffic defense matters as well as personal injury claims.
